Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an 'Original Painting vs. A Giclée Fine Art Print'?

Original paintings have been hand painted by Vanessa, therefore they are one of a kind.  Giclée prints are replicas of Vanessa's original paintings that have been printed onto a canvas material.

What is a canvas print?

I offer giclée prints on canvas.  The canvas material is a beautiful upgrade to a typical paper print.  It has textural quality that mirrors the exact canvas I paint on. Many times people can't tell the difference from an original.

Stretched vs Rolled canvas print

Stretched canvas print arrives ready to hang.  Designed to stay taut and flat, the canvas has been stretched over a wood frame. You can choose to add a floating frame for an extra level of picture perfection.

Rolled canvas print is printed on the same artist grade canvas material as our stretched canvas however it is not stretched onto the wood bars so it is just the canvas which you can get stretched or choose between other frames without the wrap.

Will 'Out of Stock' paintings be restocked?

Unfortunately not.  These are one of a kind original paintings and therefore no two paintings will ever be the same however I can create similar paintings sometimes and that's when a commission may be a good choice.

How long does it take for me to receive my artwork?

All items are ready to ship within 2-3 weeks.  Giclée prints are made to order.  All items are shipped USPS or FedEx and are estimated to arrive 5-7 business days after shipment.  Please allow 3-4 weeks for international orders to arrive.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes I ship worldwide.  Allow up to 2-3 weeks to process and package your order and an additional 3-4 weeks for international orders to arrive.

** Please Note that artwork may be subject to duties, taxes and/or fees according to your country's regulations which will be entirely your responsibility to pay.  Vanessa Katz Fine Art does not take any responsibility for any charges incurred by taxes, fees or returns.  Please consult your local customs office for more details about any duties and taxes.  Vanessa Katz Fine Art reserves the right to cancel and refund an order due to the difficulty of shipping an item to certain countries.

International Shipping

All paintings and giclée prints are shipped rolled in a tube.  Framed and stretched art are not available for shipping out of the United States.  If you place an order for a stretched giclée canvas your purchase order will be refunded once funds have cleared.

How are shipping costs determined?

Shippings costs are determined on the price, dimensions and weight of the artwork (s) purchased as well as the shipping destination.  Shipping costs include packaging and handling.  Please remember to add on any taxes, duties and fees that may be charged by your country.  This is solely the purchasers responsibility.  If you are unsure please contact your local customs office for more details.

How will my large artwork be shipped to me?

Paintings are shipped flat in a box or package.   The largest painting that is shipped flat in a box is a 30 x 40" or a 24 x 48".  These are ready to hang on your wall straight out of the box.  Anything larger in size is removed from the wood stretcher bars, rolled and shipped in a tube.  A local framer will be able to re-stretch your painting when you receive it.

*** International Shipping:  All paintings larger than 16 x 16" will be removed from stretcher bars and rolled in a tube (unless otherwise stated in the description of the individual artwork).  Smaller paintings will be shipped in a box.

Do you license or wholesale your work?

Yes of course!  Please contact me at VanessaKatzArt@gmail.com with your enquiries.

Do you work with interior designers?

Absolutely! I often work with interior designers and I am happy to create custom paintings in any size to suit you and your client's vision.  For a consultation to discuss your requirements, please contact me at VanessaKatzArt@gmail.com.

What type of materials do you use and how do you finish your paintings?

Most of my work is created using acrylic paints and sometimes I also use oil pastels and some other mixed media.  All my paintings are signed on the back and some are also signed on the front.  I do not sign on the front when a painting can be positioned for either a vertical or horizontal view allowing the collector the freedom to choose.  My original paintings are usually varnished (a liquid UV sealant) to protect your painting from dust and light.  For works on paper, framing behind glass is the best for protection and preservation.

Returns?

All sales are final. No returns or exchanges will be given.  Exceptions are made in case of any damage incurred during shipping.  If this happens, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery, please include an image of the item showing clearly any damage.

Thanks

Vanessa ♥
